Adderley Street Redevelopment Now Complete

August 5 2009 No Comments

A R200miliion office and retail redevelopment in the heart of Cape Town has just been completed. 11 Adderley Street has been completely refurbished to provide 32 000m2 of retail and office space in one of the most historic districts in Cape Town. The original building design included very large floor plates, which have been retained due to their significant advantages, such as the ability to retain large open plan floor areas ideally suited to banks, call centres and government departments.

Significant internal revamping included the installation of new lifts and lift shafts, and the construction of a new glass topped atrium which extends from the 4th to the 8th floor. 11 Adderley Street is located in close proximity to the Castle of Good Hope, museums, bus and rail terminals, and Parliament. The building is situated adjacent to the Golden Acre, and also benefits from that buildings parking facilities. A pedestrian walkway between the two buildings has already been approved by the City Council.

11 Adderley Street has a total of 10 000m2 of retail, and 22 000m2 of office space. Office space is available in sizes ranging from 350m2 up to 3400m2 on a single floor. Office rentals are priced at R89 m2.
