SOKOLIC PROPERTY GROUP was started in January 2005 by Joe Sokolic in Cape Town, South Africa.

Joe Sokolic started his career straight out of high school in 1992 with Permanent Trust Property Group in Cape Town, as an industrial property broker.

After 7 years in the industry at two different companies, Joe decided to travel abroad and work in Europe to broaden his horizons. He ended up spending the better part of five years working for the easyGroup (specifically easyEverything ) out of London in the Advertising Sales field, mostly Internet Advertising. It was while working in this field that he found he had a natural instinct for Advertising Sales and Marketing using the Internet as a broadcast channel. He excelled in helping make the Internet advertising revenue stream one of the mainstay revenue streams for the company at the time. He was responsible for European key accounts and the Advertising Sales Managers Roles, handling such companies as the BBC, CNN, Lastminute.com and Microsoft amongst others.

Throughout this time he furthered his education in a private capacity with regards to how the media landscape was changing, and after the collapse of the previously lucrative Internet Advertising and Venture Capital market in 2001, he decided to return to South Africa. Over the next two years he led a team of software developers to develop two platforms, one being the SOKOLIC PROPERTY GROUP internal database, known as ‘The System’, and the South African Commercial Property website at www.commercial-property.co.za.

Joe was joined by his brother Vincent in an administration capacity in late 2005, and his sister in law Tereza in mid 2006. Together these three now form the bones of the operation and make sure they are constantly ahead of the game with regards to Internet property marketing in Southern Africa. Joe heads up all product development and strategy at the company, while Vincent and Tereza handle the administration and co-ordination of stock and enquiry management in the Western Cape and Gauteng regions respectively.

SOKOLIC PROPERTY GROUP has since diversified with the addition of SokolicID to the stable. SokolicID is a specialist Investments and developments company headed up by Gareth Lombard, which is operated out of Boston in the Western Cape.

Further developments include increased expansion into core markets such as Gauteng and KwaZula-Natal, as well as forays into the Travel and Social Media arenas.
